XT4 - Not to be mistaken for the discontinued XTS, the smallest crossover in the lineup relies on a less potent turbocharged four-pot to motor around town.The Cadillac SUV and crossover lineup for 20 is small, but there is still something for everyone. Luckily, its small dimensions and relatively low weight mean that 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque are more than sufficient. XT5 - The odd brother in the family, the compact crossover receives the same base powertrain as the subcompact, but it also gets access to a higher-performance V6 on the Premium Luxury and Sport trim.The smaller displacement also gives it the best gas mileage in the range, returning 24/30/26 mpg in its most efficient guise. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for more important feature limitations and information.The need to upgrade so far just for the necessary oomph to get around quickly is quite a drawback, and that is including the fact that the starting MSRP is already quite high for the segment. Visibility, weather and road conditions may affect feature performance. Remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Safety or driver assistance features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. Keep the Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist sensors clean to help ensure the system works effectively.To do this, select the parking type from the infotainment display or press and hold the APA button to switch between parallel and perpendicular parking. You can also switch between parallel and perpendicular parking types.You’ll still receive park assist alerts and seat pulses (if your vehicle has the Safety Alert Seat) during automatic parking to help you stay aware of detected objects around your vehicle.You must always be ready to override the feature during the parking maneuver. Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist does not detect or avoid traffic that is behind or alongside your vehicle.Remember, Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist does not respond to changes in the parking space, such as a nearby vehicle moving or a person or object entering the parking space.You’ll see a progress bar in your instrument panel or infotainment screen that shows you how far you are into the parking maneuver.In small or tight parking spaces, the feature may make multiple maneuvers to park your vehicle. Your vehicle will then automatically steer and brake into the detected spot, and shift between FORWARD and REVERSE gears as needed until the maneuver is complete.Your steering wheel may also vibrate to indicate that you can remove your hands from the wheel. You’ll see instructions on your instrument panel or infotainment screen to tell you when to remove your hands from the steering wheel.During automatic parking, your vehicle will move at very low speeds (maximum speed of 3 mph).When the feature has detected a large enough parking space, you’ll hear a beep, and instructions in your instrument cluster or your infotainment display will tell you to stop and shift to REVERSE. On certain vehicles, your vehicle will shift to REVERSE automatically.Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can detect parking spots while your vehicle is moving forward below 18 mph.The feature will then start to look for a parking space on your left that is large enough for your vehicle. To use it to find a space on the left, activate the left turn signal or select the left side from your infotainment screen, depending on your vehicle.Depending on your vehicle, you’ll activate Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist with a soft-touch button or hard switch near your infotainment display.Overriding steering and gear selection will disable automatic parking. You must be prepared to apply harder braking, steering and gear selection as needed. You must remain in the vehicle during the parking maneuver and must always be prepared to override the feature by manually steering. ![]() ![]() The feature will tell you when you should remove your hands from the wheel, so it can steer your vehicle during the maneuver.
