It's a liner pool but they poured concrete in there for steps. I got a couple of issues with the liners, which needs restretching from the initial install. Initially, they came out and bypassed it because it was leaking out of it, but they got everything resolved there. The heater cracked and the reps from Blue Haven came out and took pictures. It’s not what it was supposed to look like. And the pool is not the way we designed it. The pool is okay but it’s not magical, and the experience itself just reduced it. I've had a couple of people ask me about the pool recently and I tell them not to go with Blue Haven. It also seemed like the girl that worked in the office didn’t like Laura. And then we found out that they were gonna dig two days before they came and someone had to be here. I had to cancel patients because of the short notice which doesn’t help my job. And even when this whole disaster with the digging was wrong, it was Laura who came.Īlso, we never had any date, and when we did, it was urgent, and my husband and I both work and so I had to cancel patients to come when they needed to have someone to come look or some county person had to be here. If I couldn’t get answers or if they were closed on Fridays, I would text Laura. I spoke with the girl in the office that fields the calls for Scott. But I would call and try to get answers of when they’re gonna start and Scott was never available. So, that wasn’t their fault and I don’t hold that against them. We had a lot of rain, so I understand that has to be dry for a couple of weeks. Then, they started digging the end of April. So, that delayed our pool being done because they would do one step with us, then go over there do one step with them, so it was extremely lengthy when it shouldn’t have been as much. Then, our next-door-neighbor had talked them into doing his pool at the same time. We were like the first on the waiting list which was fine. That didn’t sit well with me, but since the whole rest of the experience was so incredible, I just chalked it up just let that one go. So, I contacted the project manager that oversaw it and he just told me to take some more soap and water and try to do it again. There was some overspray on some of the windows and I tried to get it off, but I couldn’t. Everything has been running well and working as they guaranteed.Įven though they graded out some of the yard that was dug up, it was filled with chunks of concrete so I had to go through that. But other than that, there have really been no issues. There are a bit of spots of rusting underneath some of the stones and I’m just trying to figure out that. There is a bit of calcium buildup from the water fountain so I’m trying to figure out how to maintain that. They stayed on target the entire time through the process. Also, the construction was right on target. I made some changes toward the end and things like that once it started filling in, but for the most part, it’s exactly as what they described, the pictures they sent, the design that they came up with.

Pollution When biomass, such as wood, is consumed completely in the burning process, it produces carbon dioxide (C02) and water vapor (H20) alone.Overview: Fire based solutions, such as the Rocket Stove, allow cooks to make meals when the sun isn't shining or achieve temperatures that would be difficult without expensive parabolic cookers. Heat exchanger - a tubular metal shield that forces hot gases from the chimney to pass over the sides of the cooking vessel.Chimney - a metal box (such as a 5-gallon tin can) or pipe standing vertically and supporting the cooking vessel.Fuel shelf - holds the fuel clear of the bottom of the magazine to allow air to flow underneath.Fuel magazine - a short length of steel or ceramic pipe fitted horizontally into the base of the chimney. The Rocket stove's main components are as follows: The Justa Stove, for example, is a cousin of the rocket stove adapted for indoor use and family cooking needs.Ī Rocket stove made from a barrel in Bolivia This attention has resulted in a number of adaptations intended to improve convenience and safety, and thus the size of the target audience. As such, sufficient fuel for cooking tasks can be gathered in less time, without the benefit of tools, and ideally without the destruction of forested areas.īecause these qualities improve local air quality, and discourage deforestation, the rocket stove has attracted the attention of a number of Appropriate Technology concerns, which have deployed it in numerous third-world locales (notably, the Rwandan refugee camps). Furthermore, the design of the stove requires small diameter lengths of wood, which can generally be satisfied with small branches. Rocket Stoves operates roughly twice as efficiently, and substantially more cleanly, than the open fire cooking methods still used in many areas of the world. Baking is done inside the inner drum-in a sealed compartment within the chimney, above the firebox. The outer drum is split open to create an insulated chimney space between the two drums and to allow for a doorway. Rocket stoves used in conjunction with hayboxes can save enormous amounts of fuel, cooking complete meals while using very few resources.Ī related design, the Rocket Bread Oven, is constructed using two 55 gallon drums, one inside the other. The low-mass stove body and insulated chimney ensure that the heat goes into the cooking pot, not into the stove. The pieces of wood or other material burn at their tips, increasing combustion efficiency, creating a very hot fire, and eliminating smoke. Rocket Stoves use branches, twigs, small wood scraps, or just about any small combustible material. A skirt around the pot will help hold heat in, increasing the efficiency. Cooking is done on top of a short insulated chimney. These are low-mass stoves designed to burn small pieces of wood very efficiently. It is easy to construct, with low-cost materials. The Rocket Stove, a popular variety of improved combustion stoves, is an integral part of the Integrated Cooking Method. The series premiered with an hour-long pilot episode, "Big Time Audition", on Nickelodeon, on November 28, 2009. Big Time Rush (also known as BTR), is an American television sitcom created by Scott Fellows about the Hollywood misadventures of four hockey players from Minnesota-Kendall, James, Carlos, and Logan, after they are selected to form a boy band. "The film looks at certain secret spaces in everybody's lives, which no one wants to talk about," says the 42-year-old director. It's shocking and, at times, unbearable to watch as the Indian director tries to take the spectator inside the dangerous mind of a very sick man fantasising about overpowering women and asserting his masculinity. While this scene has an air of the absurd, Behl doesn't shy away from showing some of Guru's more angry and violent fantasies. It's a bold film where the first sex scene ends with a woman turning into a giant rodent, and we begin to realise that Guru is a fantasist. There is a touch of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman in how Guru's obsessions and delusions blur fact and fiction. Wildly frustrated, Guru spends his days addicted to dating apps and acts out a series of violent sexual fantasies, though Behl never makes clear whether these are real events, or figments of Guru's imagination. There is no space for him to have a partner or a sex life without everyone in his cramped household knowing and commenting, so he wants to have an extension built. There is the much more popular Bollywood version of Indian cinema, which a lot more people know about, and there is also the parallel independent film world where a lot of interesting work has happened, not just now or in the past 5 or 10 years, but over decades.Īgra tells the story of a repressed call centre employee named Guru, who lives in a small house with his parents and married siblings. As Behl himself says: "There are so many films made in India, and there is a split personality, almost like two different ideas of Indian cinema that are there. It is also the latest addition to a lineage of transgressive, alternative Indian cinema that barely gets talked about. Director Kanu Behl's Agra, which played last Thursday in the Director's Fortnight sidebar section, is a shocking and forthright look at sexually repressed men in India that is replete with nudity and explicit sex scenes. – Cannes review: The Zone of Interest is 'a masterpiece'īut anyone who imagines that all Indian cinema is so innocent was in for a big surprise at this year's Cannes Film Festival. – The power of Cannes hit How to Have Sex Indeed, Bollywood directors over the last century have had to find ways to depict sexiness in understated, suggestive ways that get past the disapproving glare of the controlling censors – like a big number featuring a demure actress in a white sari running through a fountain, for example. One of the things Indian cinema is known for all around the world, as well as song-and-dance numbers, is its chasteness, as a result of popular Bollywood productions, which historically didn't even allow for kissing on screen, let alone sex scenes. On the north bank, they rise from the river and wind toward its eponymous 12th-century chateau carved into a cliff arrive early, when the mists are still rising, they may be shrouded, the imposing towers above veiled. The steep, cobblestone streets of Beynac were perhaps our favourite of the Dordogne villages we visited. You can also spend the night here in a lovely 19th century hotel named after the King - Hôtel Edward 1er. Good to know | 'The Last Duel', the blockbuster Matt Damon & Ridley Scott movie, filmed several scenes in Monpazier. The great thing though is that Monpazier doesn't feel like a museum piece or a relic the square is lively and thriving, the arcades home to bars and cafes, and the homes cared for and lived in. Stand in the middle of Place des Cornières or walk its surrounding streets, and you will clearly hear and see the echoes of bygone centuries. It was an early form of urban planning, with prescribed standards and guidelines on church placement, space between houses, and the width of streets. These were unfortified 'new towns' in the 13th century, built according to a strict grid pattern, with the primary feature being the large open central square bordered by an arcade. Monpazier, alongside its ‘plus beaux’ distinction, is also revered due to being the best preserved example of a ' bastide' in the Dordogne. It's for this reason that this French village was founded by an English king in 1284. Due to this union, he added much of western France to his Angevin Empire, and this land was fought over and traded between the crowns of England and France for much of the medieval period (sowing the seeds of the Hundred Years' War). When Eleanor of Aquitaine married Henry Plantagenet (King Henry II of England), the latter also became Duke of Aquitaine. The number of ex-pats who have 'escaped to the chateau' in the Dordogne is only the continuation of an age-old English involvement in the region. This first time enough to convince us both that somewhere this beautiful simply has to be visited a few more times, and we're already making plans to return come spring or summer. You're hard pushed to find a Dordogne village or town which isn't breathtaking.Ģ. We did however realise two crucial things in our three days:ġ. It did not take long to understand why this part of France has seduced so many British people over the centuries.Īlas, we were unable to visit and fall for all ten of the Dordogne's most beautiful villages, but we made a decent first attempt in the time available. Picking up our rental car from the teeny tiny aéroport Bergerac, we were instantly seduced by the bucolic scenes which unfolded before us under the honey light typical of a mid-October afternoon in southwest France: golden fields, vineyard rows, picturesque farmhouses screaming 'abandon your life and move here to rear chickens, drink wine, and let seven rescue dogs run free'. It was therefore the ideal place to start our travels through the region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The Dordogne, where a soft mist rises from the terroir each morning and the river and the valley share the same name, has the joint-most villages in this exclusive club, with ten enjoying the ' Les Plus Beaux Villages de France' seal of approval. Back in 1982, an independent association was established to designate the most beautiful villages in France.Ĭriteria for selection included being under 2,000 inhabitants, a commitment to cultural heritage, paying a small membership fee, and being absolutely stunning. When people ask me why I like to play this game, I simply reply because it’s fun. That’s being said, you will be tempted and the endgame could be easier if you throw your wallet at it. I have to be honest, I haven’t payed for anything yet, and I don’t feel I’ve hit a paywall even in the endgame. The second part is from a third person view where you and your team transport and explore different planets and collect the data needed to complete your mission. You have your trusty spaceship and crew and you get to explore anomalies and fight enemies. The first part, where you will spend most of your time (because it’s better), is in space. Defending from an invading Borg Collective and at the same time studying a distant planet that has some unusual readings – it’s has very Trekkie feel to it. Being in love with the world since my childhood I get a massive kick from the game. The missions in Star Trek Online are conceived as episodes, just like the TV-series. When you choose a nation, you can also choose which race you want to be – a Klingon in UFP, perhaps? You start the game from the lowest rank that allows you to sit in the captain’s chair of a spaceship. There is the Federation (UFP), of course, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire. You can choose several races and nations from the Star Trek universe. The story takes place 30 years after the events that transpire in Star Trek Nemesis. When I heard that an online game based on the Star Trek universe is being developed, I knew I would spend many hours, unless it’s was going to be utter crap. One hundred books have been challenged in Davis School District schools for apparent sexual content. The decision to pull it from junior high and elementary school shelves stemmed from “vulgarity or violence” in its pages, according to Williams. In allowing the Bible to remain on high school library shelves, the review committee determined the book didn’t contain “sensitive materials” of a sexual nature as defined in state law. In a variously scathing and tongue-in-cheek explanation for the request to remove the Bible, the petitioner - who hasn’t been publicly identified by school officials - noted that some passages in it touch on such themes as incest, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation and more. 8 Faribault (3-18 overall) 10-7 to keep its season. at the Provo City Cemetery as children wave mini American flags during a Memorial. campus of Bronson Middle High School Two Chiefland men arrested following.
